Martin Luther
Martin Luther changed Christianity during the Renaissance. He is considered by many, one of the most holy men who ever lived because of what he did. He kept order in the religious world. He taught people the real meaning of Christianity. He even kept the Bible a major part of Christianity, when it could have lost its religious importance. He was truly an amazing man.
In the spring of fourteen eighty-three in Eisleben, Germany, Martin Luther was born into a prosperous family with strict rules. He had no brothers or sisters, and no other relatives close in age. Martin never wanted to marry, but one day he met a former nun named, Katherine. Martin fell in love with Katharine. Katharine had run away from her convent, because she did not agree with the way the church did things. Katherine was an outlaw but Martin loved her anyway. Martin and Katherine dated for a long time and eventually got married. They had six children he had three boys and three girls. It was like martin and Katherine were meant to be together. They were both outlaws and they had similar views.

Martin Luther graduated second best in his class from the University of Erfurt where he studied law. After he had graduated, he became a professor. He later found that he needed to have a better relationship with God, so he became a monk. It did not please his father that Martin was a monk. Instead Martin’s father wanted him to be a lawy

Martin Luther was very important to the renaissance because he changed the face of religion during this time of rebirth. When he was in his thirties, Martin Luther found that the Catholic Church was not following the Bible. He found that the church was cheating people and taking there money. They did this by selling false certificates that said that they or there dead realities would skip purgatory and go straight to heaven. When he looked further in to this problem, he realized that the church was doing ninety-five major things wrong. So Martin wrote down the problems and posted them on the door of the castle church in Whittenburg, Germany. He called them his Ninety-Five Thesis. After Martin had posted his ninety-five thesis, the Catholic Church kicked him out. Because Martin could not fix the Catholic Church he decided to start his own religion. He called his religion Lutheran. He taught people how to respect God and to follow the ways of the Bible. This new religion got many people thinking. Because of this many new protestant religions were formed this was called the Protestant Reformation. They called it the reformation because they were trying to reform the church.

Martin Luther’s actions had many troblesome effects on his life. Martin’s actions had his life constantly in danger. The Catholic Church had a lot of power back then and martins ninety-five theses angered the church. He was outlawed and any one could kill him on sight. Martin had to go in to hiding because of this. When martin was in hiding he translated the bible to German from Latin by hand. After martin came out of hiding he used Johannes Gutenberg’s new invention of the printing press to make many copy’s of the bible. Because of his actions martin became a very powerful man. People looked up to martin because of what he did. Some people even thought of him as a hero.
Martin Luther lived most of his life in Wittenberg, Germany. He had many heart attacks throughout his life one day in 1546 he tragically died of a heart attack In Eisleben Germany. He was buried under the castle church in Wittenberg. As you can see the world would be a very different place without martin Luther. Without martin Luther there might not have even been a protestant reformation.
